Giving Back
Dear Spooky Nerd,
At Spirit Empire, we recognize that we owe much to those who built the captivating history and lore of New Orleans that our tours showcase. As a token of appreciation, we donate a portion of the proceeds to assist local organizations devoted to restoring and preserving historic cemeteries, Fench Quarter architecture, and public research centers dedicated to our city’s rich history.
By supporting crucial repair efforts, we aim to ensure these stunning final resting places and beautiful buildings remain intact for generations to come. Crumbling walls, vandalism, and weathering threaten the beauty and legacy interred here. Our contributions fund structural improvements, security enhancements, preservation maintenance, and access for descendants and history buffs alike.
We cannot change the past, but we can preserve our heritage through diligent restoration work. Join us on a Spirit Empire tour to contribute to this vital cause and experience these spaces firsthand before it’s too late. Together, we can provide dignified remembrance to those who laid the groundwork for the captivating locale we and countless visitors cherish.
TOGETHER, HERE'S HOW WE'RE IMPROVING AfterLIVES...
Bringing New Orleans’ Cities of the Dead Back to Life
Save Our Cemeteries is the esteemed non-profit dedicated to preservation, education and advocacy for New Orleans’ historic and culturally vital cemeteries since 1974. Through tomb stabilization, brick repair, landscape maintenance and critical structural improvements across the city’s cities of the dead, they protect these sites integral to local history.
As a member donor himself, Dr. SImon encourages our tour guests and website visitors to learn more about Save Our Cemeteries’ efforts through their cemetery tour programs and educational lectures on burial customs, architecture, historical figures, and restoration methodology. By volunteering or donating, you can aid their mission to ensure future generations access these spaces. It is only through public awareness and support of organizations like Save Our Cemeteries that we can reverse decades of weathering and neglect threatening New Orleans’ iconic final resting places.
Preserving the History and Culture of New Orleans
The Historic New Orleans Collection (THNOC) is an esteemed museum, research center, and publisher dedicated to curating the multicultural history of New Orleans and the Gulf South since 1966. Through exhibitions, an extensive artifacts collection, educational programming, and award-winning publications, THNOC allows both residents and visitors to connect with our region’s rich legacy.
As proud supporters of their mission, Spirit Empire Tours donates to aid THNOC’s vital work in developing public historical resources. Our founder, Dr. Simon, is a member donor and encourages our tour guests and site visitors to get involved with THNOC by visiting their French Quarter campuses, subscribing to their magazine, or donating to their preservation efforts as well. It is only through public participation that we can ensure primary historical items, spaces, and knowledge are preserved for future generations.
